Complete exam setup in Bluebook on the device you will take to the centre. College Board says setup becomes available 1–5 days before the test and downloads the test while generating the admission ticket. Confirm the test date, centre, arrival time and student details. Print the ticket if possible and keep a secure backup that follows the current instruction. Exam setup is device-specific preparation; do not assume that signing in once on another computer makes the intended device ready.

Check identification separately. College Board requires an original physical photo ID that is valid, in good condition and shows the student’s full legal name exactly as it appears on the admission ticket. The photograph must be recent and recognisable, and the document text must be clearly legible in English. A photocopy, screenshot, electronic ID, birth certificate or damaged document may not qualify. The admission ticket alone is not identification, so compare the name and photo before test morning.

Prepare the device and permitted materials. Bring the fully charged approved Windows or Mac device, iPad or school-managed Chromebook with Bluebook installed and updated. Carry the power cable or a portable charger, but do not assume an outlet will be available. Bring pencils or pens for scratch work and remember the College Board username and password. Bluebook includes a calculator for Math; an acceptable separate calculator may also be brought. A quiet non-audible watch, snack and drink can be useful for the break.

Check the centre status before travel. College Board recommends reviewing the test card on the Bluebook homepage, email, My SAT and the Test Center Closings page, and checking the centre website on test morning. Close and reopen Bluebook to receive current messages. Use the admission ticket for the address and reporting time. The standard Saturday example opens doors at 7:45 a.m. and closes them at 8 a.m., but the ticket controls because locations and approved accommodations can use a different schedule.

At the centre, follow staff instructions and keep prohibited items away. The assigned seat is not chosen by the student. Connect only to the announced network, open Bluebook when directed and close other applications. Phones and smartwatches must follow the current storage and use rules; accessing a prohibited device during the session or break can lead to dismissal or score cancellation. Do not discuss or reproduce test questions. Use only the permitted Bluebook tools, scratch materials and calculator options.
