Confirm that the planned test-day device is approved before installation. College Board supports Windows and Mac devices, iPads and school-managed Chromebooks. A personal Chromebook and a mobile phone are not permitted testing devices. The detailed operating-system, storage, screen and management requirements change over time, so compare the device against the current official page rather than using a screenshot from an earlier testing year.
Open Bluebook well before test day and sign in with the same College Board account connected to the SAT registration. Explore the interface and complete the test preview so navigation, annotation, answer marking and the built-in tools are familiar. Download and take a full-length official practice test under realistic conditions. Bluebook practice is not only content work; it checks whether the student can use the planned device comfortably for the full testing routine.
Allow updates. College Board states that students must test on the latest version and that Bluebook may attempt an update when launched.
