A careful registration protects the fee and the application timeline

Most registration problems are avoidable when students verify identity, test type, location, date, payment and deadlines before clicking the final confirmation.

Start with identification rather than a date. ETS states that the name used to create the account must exactly match the name on the ID presented on test day. Review the current rules for the testing location and citizenship, including whether the document must be original, physical, government-issued, valid, signed and contain a recognisable photo. Resolve uncertainty with ETS before registration.

Create the student’s own ETS account and protect its credentials. The account is used to register, view or change the appointment, receive notifications, access scores, order additional score reports and use official services. Avoid duplicate accounts and do not give the password or payment details to an unverified person. Record the login email securely for the full application cycle.

Choose the correct test and delivery option. Most applicants need the GRE General Test, not a Subject Test, but the programme’s official page determines whether a test is requested or useful. Search current test-centre appointments by location and date range or evaluate the at-home option only after checking equipment, room, internet, ID-verification and security requirements.

Review the date against deadlines. ETS currently says official scores are available 8–10 days after the test, and institutions also need delivery and processing time. Work backward from the earliest programme or funding deadline. If a possible retake is part of contingency planning, remember that ETS currently permits the General Test once every 21 days and up to five times within a rolling 12-month period.

Check the live fee and checkout summary. Official GRE charges can change, and optional services or later changes may add cost. Confirm the test type, delivery mode, date, local time, centre address where applicable, name, fee and payment method. Save the receipt and appointment confirmation. A pending card message or screenshot without an ETS confirmation is not enough.

MKS Education can align registration with a diagnostic and preparation plan. Its physical, online and hybrid GRE classes include recordings in every mode, iOS and Android practice, physical books, an eight-week guided course, six-month access and continued support. Students needing repetition may join multiple suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedules and seats. MKS cannot guarantee a score or official booking.

What makes the MKS GRE learning system different

The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.

Physical online and hybrid

Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable for Kathmandu or remote learning.

Recordings in every mode

Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.

iOS and Android practice

Use structured GRE practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.

Physical books

Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official ETS resources.

Eight weeks plus six months

Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.

Multiple suitable classes

Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats.

Practical next steps

  • Verify the programme policy, deadline and test type on official pages.
  • Match the ETS account name exactly to the acceptable ID.
  • Compare live centre and at-home options before selecting the appointment.
  • Save the ETS receipt and confirmation and recheck test-day instructions.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Do not create multiple ETS accounts for the same student.
  • Do not use a nickname or different name order without checking the ID rules.
  • Do not pay through an unverified page or share account credentials.
  • Do not book so late that score delivery misses the application deadline.
Current test context

Prepare for the GRE General Test students now take

ETS lists one 30-minute Analytical Writing task, two Verbal Reasoning sections and two Quantitative Reasoning sections in the shorter computer-delivered General Test.

One 30-minute Analyze an Issue task assesses clear ideas, reasons, examples, organisation and written control.

Verbal Reasoning

Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 18 and 23 minutes respectively.

Quantitative Reasoning

Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 21 and 26 minutes respectively.

How do I create an ETS account from Nepal?

Use the official ETS account page and enter the student’s name exactly as it appears on the acceptable test-day identification document.

Can someone else register for my GRE?

The student should control the ETS account and verify all identity, appointment and payment details. Do not share credentials with an unverified person.

Should I book a test centre or GRE at home?

Compare live centre availability with at-home equipment, room, internet, identity and security requirements before deciding.

How early should I register before a university deadline?

Allow preparation time, the ETS score-availability window and additional delivery and institutional-processing time before the official deadline.

Does MKS registration support guarantee an appointment?

No. MKS can explain planning and preparation, but live appointments, payments and confirmations are controlled by ETS.
