Explore more options
Go deeper with the MKS UK university directory.
Browse 161 institution, campus and pathway profiles in our current UK directory. Filter by study level, intake and course, compare profiles, then bring your favourites to a counselling session.

Why choose the UK?
Build more than a qualification.
Look for a course that develops the knowledge, experience and confidence you want to carry into your next stage.
01
A focused academic route
Many bachelor’s degrees take three years, typically four in Scotland; many taught master’s degrees take one year. Foundation, placement and professional routes can be longer.
02
Practical, independent learning
Compare projects, laboratories, assessment methods and industry links. The right teaching style matters as much as a familiar university name.
03
An international perspective
Study with people from different backgrounds, strengthen communication and build a professional network through your course and campus activities.
04
Career planning from day one
Use the university careers service, develop your CV and explore eligible placements. Plan around your skills and the employment market, alongside current visa rules.
Course-duration reference: British Council Study UK.
Undergraduate route
After +2: plan your UK bachelor’s journey.
Start by matching your +2 subjects and grades to the degree you want. Direct entry, a foundation year or an international-year pathway can lead to different durations and total costs.
- Check the exact entry qualification and subject requirements.
- Compare tuition across the full degree, not only the first payment.
- Review campus location, accommodation and personal support.
- Understand placement-year options and their extra fees.
- Build an English and academic preparation plan before departure.
Postgraduate route
After a bachelor’s: specialise with purpose.
A UK master’s should connect your previous study or work experience to a clear next step. Assess the modules, assessment, accreditation and project options before choosing on price alone.
- Confirm how the university assesses your Nepali qualification.
- Check whether a subject background or work experience is required.
- Compare one-year, placement and research routes carefully.
- Prepare a clear course rationale and supporting documents.
- Plan the whole budget, including dependants only if your route permits them.
Study → Graduate route → next opportunity
Understand the UK journey beyond admission.
Make the degree the foundation of your plan. Each later immigration stage has its own eligibility rules.
01
Study and build your profile
Complete your eligible UK course, develop your skills and follow your Student visa conditions. Check permitted work against your own permission and term dates.
02
Graduate route (often called PSW)
The current rule gives eligible applications made from 1 January 2027 an 18-month Graduate visa; doctoral graduates receive three years. Apply in the UK after your provider reports successful completion.
03
Choose a qualifying next step
You may pursue further study or apply for a suitable work route if eligible. Skilled Worker normally needs an approved sponsor, eligible job, Certificate of Sponsorship and the applicable salary and English requirements.
The Graduate visa cannot be extended. A job, sponsorship, settlement or future visa is not guaranteed by enrolling on a course. Recheck the rules at graduation, especially when starting a multi-year degree. Graduate visa rules · Skilled Worker rules.
Budget with the full picture
What does studying in the UK cost?
Separate university tuition, visa evidence and the money you will actually spend. A maintenance figure is not a complete living-cost budget.
| Cost / requirement | Current planning figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Course tuition | See the course cards above | Confirm academic year, annual versus course-total basis, campus, scholarship and deposit in your offer. |
| Maintenance — London | £1,529 per month × up to 9 = £13,761 | Usually added to unpaid first-year tuition shown on your CAS for financial evidence. |
| Maintenance — outside London | £1,171 per month × up to 9 = £10,539 | A visa evidence requirement; actual rent, travel and daily costs may differ. |
| Student visa application | £558 | Current standard application fee. Extra services, if selected, cost more. |
| Student immigration health surcharge | £776 per year | Calculated for the visa length, which may be longer than the course. |
| Other costs | Build a personal allowance | English test, TB test when required, documents, travel, accommodation deposit and initial living expenses. |
The required visa funds normally need to be held for 28 consecutive days, ending within 31 days of the application. Plan the timing with your CAS and visa submission. Check official Student visa financial requirements.

Questions before you apply
Study in UK FAQs for Nepali students
Clear answers to the questions that shape your course, budget and next intake.
How can I study in the UK from Nepal?
Choose a suitable course and licensed Student sponsor, meet academic and English requirements, obtain an offer and CAS, prepare the required funds and documents, then apply for a Student visa. MKS Education can help you organise the shortlist, application and preparation steps.
Which UK intake should I choose for 2027?
January 2027 is the next intake highlighted here. Selected courses also publish May starts, while September/October is the main annual intake. Your choice should match the course, document readiness, English result, budget and university deadlines.
How much does it cost to study in the UK from Nepal?
The four published tuition examples on this page range from £16,020 to £19,450, with different annual or full-course fee bases. Add living costs, the Student visa fee, the immigration health surcharge, travel and other expenses. Ask MKS for an itemised estimate for your exact course and intake.
How many UK universities accept applications from Nepal?
There is no single fixed Nepal-only count that establishes your eligibility. Many UK institutions assess Nepali qualifications, but each course has its own rules. The MKS UK directory currently contains 161 institution, campus and pathway profiles; this is not a count of confirmed partner universities or guaranteed admission options.
Can I study in the UK after +2?
Yes, you can explore bachelor’s degrees after +2, subject to the university’s assessment of your grades, subjects and English qualification. A foundation or international-year route may be suitable when you do not meet direct-entry requirements.
Is IELTS compulsory for every UK university?
English evidence is required, but the accepted test or qualification varies. Some universities accept approved alternatives or specific prior-study evidence. Confirm the course and visa requirements before choosing IELTS, PTE, Oxford ELLT or another test; a waiver is not automatic.
What is the UK PSW or Graduate visa duration?
Under the current GOV.UK rule, eligible Graduate visa applicants applying on or after 1 January 2027 receive 18 months; doctoral graduates receive 3 years. A 2-year period applies to eligible applications made on or before 31 December 2026. Recheck the rules when you graduate.
Can I work in the UK while studying and after graduation?
Student work permission depends on your visa conditions, course and term dates. An eligible Graduate visa allows most work and job searching, but it cannot be extended. A later Skilled Worker application requires an eligible sponsored job and the applicable rules; employment or a visa outcome is not automatic.
How much money must I show for a UK Student visa?
Usually you must show unpaid first-year course fees listed on the CAS plus up to 9 months of maintenance: £1,529 per month in London or £1,171 outside London. The required funds normally need a 28-day holding period ending within 31 days of the application. Check the GOV.UK rules for your case.
