A valid score still needs the right recipient and enough processing time

Score planning is an application task, not only a test-day decision. Build a verified record for every programme before choosing recipients.

Official GRE General Test scores are currently available in the ETS account 8–10 days after the test date. ETS also sends reports to recipients designated on test day at that time. The student’s downloadable Test-taker Score Report is for personal records; an application usually needs the official report delivered through the process required by the institution. Do not assume that uploading the personal PDF satisfies every programme’s official-score rule.

GRE scores remain reportable for five years following the test date. This reportable period is not the same as a guarantee that every programme will accept an older score. A department may set a more recent testing preference, change whether the GRE is required, optional or not accepted, or apply a deadline earlier than the wider university deadline. Check the current programme page and contact the official admissions office when the policy is unclear.

On test day, students can designate up to four graduate institutions or fellowship sponsors as part of the test fee. At a test centre, ETS allows the student to view unofficial Verbal and Quant scores after choosing to report rather than cancel the test, then make score-recipient choices. Analytical Writing and official scores arrive later. Prepare recipient names and institution codes in advance, but recheck programme and department instructions because a central university code may not complete every application requirement.

After test day, Additional Score Reports can be ordered through the ETS account for a fee. ETS currently lists processing of online requests as approximately five business days and says a submitted request cannot be cancelled, changed or refunded. Fees and processing details can change, so use the live official page at the moment of order. Add time for the institution to match the report to the application record before its deadline.

ScoreSelect can provide Most Recent, All or Any choices depending on when the report is ordered. The detailed choices deserve separate planning, but one rule is essential: ETS warns that some programmes require applicants who tested more than once to report all GRE administrations. Programme instructions override a personal preference to hide or select an attempt. Keep a recipient sheet recording the programme policy, code, deadline, report option, order date and confirmation.

MKS Education can connect score-report deadlines to an eight-week guided GRE plan, six-month access and continued support. Physical, online and hybrid students receive recordings in every mode, iOS and Android practice and physical books. Students who need more repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedules and seats. MKS cannot guarantee a score, admission, scholarship, assistantship, funding or institutional processing time.

Diagnose first

Use an official-format baseline and classify Quant Verbal and Writing errors before choosing weekly priorities.

Match the goal

Connect the test date and preparation schedule to official programme and funding deadlines.

Verify claims

Use ETS and official university pages for changing format, fees, dates and score-use policies.

Evidence table

Turn the comparison into checks you can verify

Use the same questions for every provider and save the written answer. A transparent system is easier to compare than a headline promise.

Connected preparation

What makes the MKS GRE learning system different

The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.

Physical online and hybrid

Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable for Kathmandu or remote learning.

Recordings in every mode

Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.

iOS and Android practice

Use structured GRE practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.

Physical books

Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official ETS resources.

Eight weeks plus six months

Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.

Multiple suitable classes

Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats.

Practical next steps

  • List every programme policy deadline and recipient instruction.
  • Choose a test date with result and institutional-processing buffers.
  • Prepare up to four test-day recipients before the appointment.
  • Save each ETS order confirmation and verify application matching.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Do not confuse reportable for five years with universal acceptance.
  • Do not upload a personal report when an official report is required.
  • Do not order an ASR without checking the institution and code.
  • Do not use ScoreSelect against a programme requirement to report all tests.
Current test context

Prepare for the GRE General Test students now take

ETS lists one 30-minute Analytical Writing task, two Verbal Reasoning sections and two Quantitative Reasoning sections in the shorter computer-delivered General Test.

Analytical Writing

One 30-minute Analyze an Issue task assesses clear ideas, reasons, examples, organisation and written control.

Verbal Reasoning

Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 18 and 23 minutes respectively.

Quantitative Reasoning

Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 21 and 26 minutes respectively.
