Protect the new seat and deadline

A centre change a date change and a cancellation are three different actions

The safest sequence depends on the student’s real goal, the available seat, the application calendar and the live College Board rules shown in My SAT.

Open the active registration in the student’s My SAT account before making a decision. Confirm the current test date, centre, status, change deadline and admission-ticket details. Avoid using an email link from an unknown sender and never share the account password or payment verification code with an unofficial agent. Take a private note of the original registration and payment information so the later refund or new booking can be matched correctly.

For a test-centre change, use the registration controls in the College Board account and complete the action by the published change deadline. A seat at the new location must be available. College Board currently lists a separate centre-change charge, and the amount can change after the dated period shown on the fees page. After confirmation, complete any required Bluebook setup again and generate the updated admission ticket so the address, centre code and arrival details match the revised registration.

A test-date change is not a simple transfer. College Board instructs students to cancel the original registration and register for a new test. Check the new date and acceptable centre first because a future administration can be full. College Board says the student may cancel first or register for the new date first. Consider cash flow, seat risk, application deadlines and device-readiness timing when choosing the order. The new registration uses the current applicable fees and rules.

For cancellation, select the relevant registration in My SAT and choose Cancel Registration from the available menu. College Board states that cancellation by Thursday 11:59 p.m. ET before test day returns the registration fee while applying the relevant cancellation charge. As of 25 July 2026, the published charges through December 2026 are $34 before the change deadline and $44 after that deadline through the Thursday cutoff. Refund processing begins 3–5 business days after cancellation and uses the original payment method.

Check related services separately. College Board states that score reports ordered with registration are refundable only if the student is absent on test day, while rush score reports are not refundable. International registration also includes an international fee and some centres can have an additional centre fee; the live refund display and official international page should control the final calculation. Save the cancellation confirmation and payment record until the refund is visible.

MKS Education can rebuild the study plan after a date change through physical, online and hybrid classes, recordings for every mode, iOS and Android practice, physical books, an eight-week guided course, six-month access and continued support. Students who need more repetition may join multiple suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats. MKS cannot waive a College Board charge, move a seat or guarantee availability for a new administration.

Diagnose first

Use a timed Bluebook practice result and a domain-level error log instead of choosing a plan from a guessed score.

Match the goal

Connect the test date, score decision and preparation schedule to the real university and scholarship timeline.

Verify claims

Use College Board and official university pages for changing rules, dates, fees, formats and score-use policies.

Evidence table

Turn the decision into checks you can verify

Save the source URL and the date you checked it. A clear table is more reliable than memory or a verbal promise.

What makes the MKS SAT learning system different

The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.

Physical online and hybrid

Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable; the system supports Kathmandu and outside-Kathmandu learners.

Recordings in every mode

Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.

iOS and Android practice

Use structured SAT practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.

Physical books

Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official digital resources.

Eight weeks plus six months

Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.

Multiple suitable classes

Students needing more repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to the current schedule and seats.

Practical next steps

  • Open the active My SAT registration and note the live deadline and options.
  • Check the new date and centre availability before releasing the old plan.
  • Save the cancellation or change confirmation and the updated admission ticket.
  • Rebuild the preparation and score-release calendar around the confirmed date.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Do not assume a test-date change preserves the original seat or fee.
  • Do not use an old fee screenshot when the live College Board page is available.
  • Do not travel using an admission ticket generated before a registration change.
  • Do not share College Board login or payment codes with an unofficial intermediary.
Current test context

Prepare for the digital SAT that students actually take

College Board states that the SAT contains a 64-minute Reading and Writing section and a 70-minute Math section. Each has two adaptive modules, with a 10-minute break between the sections.

Reading and Writing

  • 54 questions across two 32-minute modules.
  • Build information and ideas, craft and structure, expression of ideas and standard English conventions.
  • Review why the correct answer is supported and why each close alternative fails.
  • Track both accuracy and time by domain before relying on full-test averages.

Math

  • 44 questions across two 35-minute modules.
  • Build Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, Geometry and Trigonometry.
  • Choose deliberately between mental work, algebra and the built-in graphing calculator.
  • Review conceptual, translation, calculator and careless-error patterns separately.

Can I directly move my SAT registration to another date?

College Board says a date change requires canceling the original registration and registering for a new test. Check the new seat and deadline first.

How much is the SAT cancellation fee in 2026?

As of 25 July 2026, College Board lists $34 by the change deadline and $44 after that deadline through Thursday 11:59 p.m. ET before test day. Recheck the live fee page.

Can I change only the SAT test centre?

Yes, if an eligible seat is available and the request is completed by the published deadline. College Board currently lists a separate centre-change fee.

When does an SAT cancellation refund arrive?

College Board says refund processing begins 3–5 business days after cancellation and returns through the original payment method. Bank timing can vary.

Can MKS Education change or cancel my SAT registration?

The student should manage the personal College Board account directly. MKS can help reorganise the preparation timeline but cannot control fees refunds or seats.
