If accreditation matters, use ABET’s official search for the exact programme, campus and level. ABET status does not automatically extend from an undergraduate programme to a master’s degree, or from one programme in a department to every programme.

What is the main difference between physics and applied physics?

Physics usually emphasises fundamental physical principles and theory. Applied physics uses those principles to investigate engineering and scientific applications. The exact boundary depends on the university, so compare required courses and research groups.

Is materials science the same as materials engineering?

They overlap, but programme orientation can differ. Materials science often concentrates on structure, properties and characterisation of materials, while materials engineering may place more emphasis on processing, design and engineering applications. Can a Nepali physics graduate apply for materials science?
