LSHTM Fund Scholarship explained

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine published one LSHTM Fund Scholarship for 2026–27. Applicants needed an offer for an eligible one-year, full-time, London-based intensive MSc, a first or upper-second-class degree or overseas equivalent, required English evidence, financial need and a plan to contribute to public or global health in a low- or middle-income country.

The two-stage process required both the course application and the scholarship portal application by 4 March 2026 at 16:00 GMT. Several joint and distance-learning programmes were excluded. Applicants waiting for the scholarship result were instructed to contact Admissions about the deposit deadline. This illustrates why course, funding and deposit timelines must be managed together.

Define a public health problem

Use evidence to identify a specific population, location and outcome. Explain what is known, the gap you observed and why it matters. Avoid claiming that one master’s degree will solve an entire national problem.
