Vancouver Island University for Nepali Students 2027: Courses Fees and Admission

IRCC lists Vancouver Island University as a public DLI and identifies locations including Nanaimo, Duncan, Parksville and Powell River. Most international applicants researching VIU encounter the Nanaimo campus, but the offer and DLI evidence should identify the actual delivery location. Do not use a general university profile to assume that another campus offers the same intake.

Start with VIU’s program finder and open the individual page for admission requirements, fees and important dates. The university warns that some programs have space or enrolment limits and that admission does not always guarantee an available seat. Apply early while recognising that a submitted application is not an offer.

Compare the credential with the applicant’s Nepal academics. Check prerequisites and whether entry begins in year one or an advanced stage. VIU notes that some programs have specific requirements for entry into later years. Obtain formal transfer-credit assessment instead of assuming every bachelor-level course from Nepal will transfer.

VIU directs international applications through EducationPlannerBC. Its international admissions page asks applicants to gather official transcripts, proof of English language proficiency, certified English translations, a passport photo page and the applicable graduation diploma or university degree. Submit separate readable files and preserve the final application.

English is checked through recognised test evidence and VIU states that results used for the cited route must be valid within the period it specifies. Program requirements can differ, so confirm the overall and component scores for the exact academic or vocational program. English Language Learning admission and completion should not be confused with direct academic admission.

At the time reviewed, VIU listed an international application fee of CAD 156.06 for all programs. The fee is non-refundable because it supports creation and processing of the record. Verify the live amount and official payment channel before submitting, and do not send application money to a private account.

VIU’s fee schedule effective from April lists international undergraduate degree, diploma and certificate tuition by credit and separate rates for trades, English study and named master’s or graduate programs. At the time reviewed, the standard international undergraduate line showed CAD 832.09 per credit. Use the course load in the actual program rather than assuming a flat year.

Add the application fee, student activity and service charges, laboratory or field costs, co-op fees, health and dental coverage, books and graduation costs where applicable. Graduate programs such as MBA, community planning or education have their own rates. VIU states that fees can be amended, so save the dated schedule and later invoice.

VIU’s tuition deposit page listed a CAD 10,000 deposit for new international undergraduate, graduate-certificate, diploma and master’s students, with the offer setting the due date. Deposits are normally non-refundable but may be transferable under stated conditions. Read visa-refusal, withdrawal and balance deadlines before paying.

IRCC’s DLI list currently shows VIU with PGWP-related information, but IRCC requires students to check the specific program. Review the credential, program duration, delivery mode and any language or field-of-study rule. Ask VIU for the six-digit CIP code when field eligibility matters and retain the written response.

Research university residence and private accommodation near the actual campus. Add deposits, utilities, transport, food, medical coverage, phone, winter and rain clothing and travel from Nepal. Vancouver Island costs and transport patterns differ from Vancouver city, so use current Nanaimo or relevant-campus evidence.

For the study permit, use the valid LOA, required PAL or exemption evidence, current proof of finances and a truthful study plan. Explain how VIU’s curriculum builds on the Nepal profile. Admission, work, a study permit, PGWP and permanent residence remain separate decisions and cannot be promised by VIU or MKS.

When a policy changes, compare the new instruction with the student’s application date, credential, institution, campus and personal status before deciding what applies. Do not silently replace an old document or reinterpret a rule from a headline. If the effect is uncertain, pause payment or submission and obtain clarification from the responsible authority or a properly authorised professional.
