Thompson Rivers University for Nepali Students 2027: Courses Fees and Admission

IRCC’s designated learning institution list identifies Thompson Rivers University as a public institution and lists Kamloops and Williams Lake. TRU also operates Open Learning, so a student must distinguish a campus-based credential from online or blended delivery. Record the program title, credential, campus, duration and start term exactly as shown on the offer.

TRU publishes undergraduate, post-baccalaureate and graduate application routes. Popular programs can close early when capacity is reached, and a visible program page does not prove that every intake remains open. Check the current international admissions page and the program-specific deadline before arranging a test or paying an application fee.

Compare curriculum and prerequisites with the student’s Nepal background. A Plus Two management graduate, engineering diploma holder or bachelor’s graduate should be able to explain why the proposed level and field add new learning. For regulated or placement-based programs, confirm professional standards and placement costs separately.

The international admissions page directs applicants through EducationPlannerBC and states that an online application requires a credit card for the application fee. At the time of review, TRU lists a non-refundable international application fee of CAD 100. Verify the live amount and payment recipient immediately before submission.

Prepare official SEE, Plus Two, diploma and university records relevant to the selected level. Translate any document not accepted in its original language through the required process. Names, dates and institutions should match the passport and prior applications. Graduate applicants should follow the separate graduate route and provide program-specific references, statement, CV or research materials.

English requirements vary by program. Do not rely on a score quoted for another faculty or an old partner sheet. Check accepted tests, overall and component minima, result validity and any pathway condition on the official program page. Admission English acceptance is separate from later PGWP language evidence.

TRU’s tuition schedule lists international undergraduate campus tuition by credit and publishes separate rates for post-baccalaureate, law and graduate programs. At the time reviewed, the public schedule showed international undergraduate and post-baccalaureate rates of CAD 760.53 per credit for the listed year, while graduate programs used different per-credit or per-term structures.

Use the number of credits in the actual first year and add student union, technology, health, laboratory, co-op and program-specific fees. Graduate science, nursing, business and education schedules differ. Do not multiply a generic rate when the official program has a flat, term or specialised fee.

New students may need a tuition deposit before registration. TRU instructs new international students to use the required deposit shown in the conditional letter of acceptance. Verify the deadline, official payment method and refund policy from the offer and current university page. Never transfer tuition to a personal or unverified third-party account.

TRU appears on the IRCC DLI list with public-institution and PGWP indicators, but IRCC cautions that not every program at a DLI is eligible. Confirm the exact program in the current DLI details and review field-of-study and language rules when they apply. Keep written confirmation and the dated IRCC result.

Build a Kamloops or Williams Lake living budget using the actual campus. Compare university housing and private rent, deposits, utilities, transport, food, insurance, winter clothing and travel from Nepal. Do not copy a Toronto or Vancouver budget, and do not count unconfirmed part-time work as essential funding.

For the study-permit file, use the valid LOA, required PAL or exemption evidence, current proof of funds and a study plan tied to the student’s Nepal history. A TRU offer does not guarantee a study permit, job, PGWP or permanent residence. MKS Education can organise the evidence but final decisions remain with TRU and Canadian authorities.

When a policy changes, compare the new instruction with the student’s application date, credential, institution, campus and personal status before deciding what applies. Do not silently replace an old document or reinterpret a rule from a headline. If the effect is uncertain, pause payment or submission and obtain clarification from the responsible authority or a properly authorised professional.

This evidence trail also improves counselling quality. The student and family can see which facts are confirmed, which are estimates and which remain conditional.
