GRE Question Bank Practice and Review Course

A question bank creates progress only when the questions match the current GRE and every error changes the next lesson or practice set.

Quality sequence review and transfer

The learning loop matters more than the question count

Solving a thousand questions with the same uncorrected habit can produce less progress than a smaller sequence with accurate explanations and fresh retesting.

Audit the bank before using it. Confirm that the content and timing reflect the current shorter GRE, that Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical Writing are represented appropriately and that each response format follows official directions. Questions should be traceable by topic and skill, not copied from unverified sources or labelled official without evidence. Use ETS overviews, sample questions, preparation books and POWERPREP as the reference for wording, scope and interface expectations.

Choose the set from a diagnosis. Quant practice can be grouped by arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data analysis and response format. Verbal work can be grouped by Reading Comprehension, Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence, with vocabulary and logic tags. Writing needs Issue prompts and individual feedback rather than a multiple-choice bank. The student should know why a set was assigned and what behaviour it is intended to change.

Use three stages. In the learning stage, work untimed and explain the reasoning. In the consolidation stage, use fresh targeted questions with limited support and track accuracy. In the performance stage, mix topics and apply section timing, navigation and review. Moving straight to timed random questions can hide the exact gap, while remaining untimed forever does not test whether the method survives the current 18-, 23-, 21- and 26-minute section demands.

Review every important response. For wrong, guessed or slow questions, record the tested skill, original method, error cause, correct reasoning and a concise prevention rule. For Quant, causes may be concept, translation, method, calculation or format. For Verbal, they may be vocabulary, sentence logic, passage evidence, scope or direction. Correct guesses need review because they can inflate confidence without a repeatable method.

Protect unseen material. Do not memorise official POWERPREP answers through repeated casual attempts. Schedule official simulations at meaningful checkpoints and use other vetted questions for daily instruction. When a question is repeated, label it as review and require an explanation rather than counting it as fresh evidence. A score from familiar material cannot validly measure readiness or predict the official test.

MKS Education can connect question-bank work to physical, online or hybrid classes, recordings in every mode, iOS and Android practice, physical books, eight guided weeks, six-month access and continued support. Students needing additional correction may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedules and seats. MKS cannot guarantee a GRE score, admission, scholarship or assistantship.

Diagnose first

Use an official-format baseline and classify Quant Verbal and Writing errors before choosing weekly priorities.

Match the goal

Connect the test date and preparation schedule to official programme and funding deadlines.

Verify claims

Use ETS and official university pages for changing format, fees, dates and score-use policies.

Evidence table

Turn the comparison into checks you can verify

Use the same questions for every provider and save the written answer. A transparent system is easier to compare than a headline promise.

CheckWhy it mattersWhat to verify
Current alignmentOld questions can teach wrong timing or scope.Current GRE content directions and structure.
Source labelOfficial and third-party material are different.Transparent provenance without false claims.
MeasureQuant Verbal and Writing need different review.Correct section and skill family.
Topic tagA diagnosis should control assignment.Content question type and subskill.
DifficultyOnly easy repetition creates false confidence.Progressive challenge after accuracy.
Learning setMethod develops before the clock.Untimed explanation and worked correction.
Targeted retestTransfer requires unseen questions.Fresh items on the corrected skill.
Timed mixed setTest-day decisions combine skills.Current section pacing and navigation.
Wrong answerThe cause determines the repair.Concept logic calculation evidence or format.
Correct guessLuck is not a stable method.Confidence and reasoning review.
Writing practiceEssays need qualitative feedback.Issue task response development and control.
Official checkpointAuthentic simulation should remain unseen.Planned POWERPREP use and review.
MKS Education: MKS can turn diagnostic evidence into targeted app sets and book assignments, then connect every error to teacher review, recordings, fresh retesting and timed checkpoints.
Connected preparation

What makes the MKS GRE learning system different

The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.

Physical online and hybrid

Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable for Kathmandu or remote learning.

Recordings in every mode

Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.

iOS and Android practice

Use structured GRE practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.

Physical books

Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official ETS resources.

Eight weeks plus six months

Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.

Multiple suitable classes

Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats.

Practical next steps

  • Audit the question source and current GRE alignment.
  • Assign sets from a measured skill gap.
  • Review wrong guessed and slow responses by cause.
  • Confirm correction with unseen questions before a timed mix.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Do not choose a bank only because it advertises many questions.
  • Do not label third-party material as official ETS content.
  • Do not count repeated familiar questions as fresh evidence.
  • Do not waste official POWERPREP forms before planned checkpoints.
Current test context

Prepare for the GRE General Test students now take

ETS lists one 30-minute Analytical Writing task, two Verbal Reasoning sections and two Quantitative Reasoning sections in the shorter computer-delivered General Test.

Analytical Writing

One 30-minute Analyze an Issue task assesses clear ideas, reasons, examples, organisation and written control.

Verbal Reasoning

Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 18 and 23 minutes respectively.

Quantitative Reasoning

Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 21 and 26 minutes respectively.

Build your GRE plan from diagnostic evidence

Bring target programmes, the earliest deadline and a recent official-format diagnostic. MKS can organise an eight-week guided plan with flexible modes, recordings, app practice, books, six-month access and continued support.

How many GRE practice questions should I solve?

There is no universal number. Use enough well-matched questions to learn a method, confirm it on unseen work and apply it under current section timing.

Are all online GRE question banks official?

No. Official ETS materials should be clearly identified; third-party questions can supplement practice but must not be presented as official.

Should I review correct answers?

Review correct guesses and slow responses because the method may be unstable even when the selected answer is right.

When should I use POWERPREP?

Use official POWERPREP at planned diagnostic and readiness checkpoints so familiarity does not weaken the evidence.

Can a question bank guarantee my GRE score?

No. A bank supports practice and diagnosis, but cannot guarantee an official score, admission or funding.
