GRE Online vs Physical Classes in Nepal
Choose the mode that protects attendance, live interaction, practice quality and feedback across the full preparation period.
Evaluate the learning system behind the delivery mode
A live video link is not automatically a complete online course, and a classroom address is not automatically strong teaching.
Compare academic equivalence first. Both modes should teach the current shorter GRE, separate Quantitative, Verbal and Analytical Writing work, use a diagnostic, assign targeted practice and review mocks. Ask whether online and physical students receive the same teacher access, essay feedback, app assignments, books, recordings and checkpoints. A provider should explain any difference in schedule, materials or support before enrolment.
Physical classes can support routine, direct conversation and a focused environment. They also require reliable travel time, and a missed commute can mean a missed lesson if recordings are not provided. Visit the classroom, inspect the device setup and ask how computer-delivered practice is integrated. Paper-only instruction should still lead to realistic computer work because ETS administers the General Test through a computer-delivered interface.
Online classes can serve students outside Kathmandu and reduce travel. Verify that the class is live, questions can be asked, the teacher can see or review student work and the platform supports stable audio, screen sharing and recorded revision. Test the device, internet, microphone and quiet study environment before choosing the batch. Recorded videos alone are self-paced content, not the same as a live interactive class.
Hybrid delivery can protect continuity when schedules or locations change. Ask whether a student can attend physically and join online when necessary, how attendance is tracked and whether every mode receives recordings. Switching rules should be clear and subject to the current timetable and seats. The academic plan should remain consistent so the student does not repeat or miss a lesson while moving between modes.
Practise independently in both cases. POWERPREP helps students experience question types, testing tools, movement, mark-and-review and timed conditions. Class mode does not replace homework, vocabulary retrieval, targeted Quant sets, Reading practice, timed Issue essays or error correction. Compare how teachers review app and book work and how the course responds when a student remains weak after a lesson.
MKS Education offers physical, online and hybrid GRE classes, recordings in every mode, iOS and Android practice, physical books, eight guided weeks, six-month access and continued support. Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedules and seats. Students should confirm the current batch and terms. MKS cannot guarantee a score, admission, scholarship or assistantship.
Diagnose first
Use an official-format baseline and classify Quant Verbal and Writing errors before choosing weekly priorities.
Match the goal
Connect the test date and preparation schedule to official programme and funding deadlines.
Verify claims
Use ETS and official university pages for changing format, fees, dates and score-use policies.
Turn the comparison into checks you can verify
Use the same questions for every provider and save the written answer. A transparent system is easier to compare than a headline promise.
| Check | Why it matters | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Current syllabus | Academic quality must match across modes. | Same shorter-GRE content and timing. |
| Live teacher | Interaction distinguishes class from video library. | Questions explanations and feedback. |
| Physical routine | A classroom can support focus. | Commute attendance and environment. |
| Online access | Remote students avoid travel. | Stable device internet audio and study space. |
| Hybrid switching | Continuity matters when plans change. | Current timetable seats and rules. |
| Recordings | Revision and recovery support every mode. | Availability quality and access period. |
| Writing feedback | AWA needs individual review. | Submission comments and revision. |
| Computer practice | The official test is computer delivered. | Interface timed sections and POWERPREP. |
| Class size | Teacher access can change with group size. | Doubt and review process. |
| Books and app | Independent practice completes the class. | Physical material iOS Android and web access. |
| Support period | The test may follow guided classes. | Eight weeks six-month access and support. |
| Outcome claim | Delivery mode cannot control results. | No score admission or funding guarantee. |
What makes the MKS GRE learning system different
The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.
Physical online and hybrid
Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable for Kathmandu or remote learning.
Recordings in every mode
Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.
iOS and Android practice
Use structured GRE practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.
Physical books
Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official ETS resources.
Eight weeks plus six months
Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.
Multiple suitable classes
Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats.
Practical next steps
- Attend a trial or observe the real teaching workflow.
- Compare teacher access Writing feedback and mock review across modes.
- Test the online device and inspect the physical classroom.
- Confirm recordings switching rules materials and support in writing.
Mistakes to avoid
- Do not confuse recorded videos with live online teaching.
- Do not choose physical classes without calculating travel consistency.
- Do not assume hybrid switching is unlimited without checking the schedule.
- Do not expect any mode to replace independent practice.
Prepare for the GRE General Test students now take
ETS lists one 30-minute Analytical Writing task, two Verbal Reasoning sections and two Quantitative Reasoning sections in the shorter computer-delivered General Test.
Analytical Writing
One 30-minute Analyze an Issue task assesses clear ideas, reasons, examples, organisation and written control.
Verbal Reasoning
Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 18 and 23 minutes respectively.
Quantitative Reasoning
Two sections contain 12 and 15 questions with 21 and 26 minutes respectively.
Build your GRE plan from diagnostic evidence
Bring target programmes, the earliest deadline and a recent official-format diagnostic. MKS can organise an eight-week guided plan with flexible modes, recordings, app practice, books, six-month access and continued support.
Are online GRE classes effective?
They can be effective when teaching is live, students can ask questions, work receives feedback and independent practice follows a structured plan.
What is the main benefit of physical GRE classes?
A classroom can provide face-to-face interaction, routine and a focused environment when travel and attendance are sustainable.
What should a hybrid GRE class include?
It should have clear switching rules, consistent academic content, live teacher access and recordings for every mode, subject to schedules and seats.
Do online students need computer-based mock tests?
Yes. The GRE is computer delivered, so every mode should include realistic interface, timing and official POWERPREP practice.
Does MKS guarantee results in any class mode?
No. MKS supports preparation across modes but cannot guarantee an official score, admission or funding.
