September Intake in UK 2027 Complete Application Timeline

September is the UK’s broadest university intake. For 2027 entry, Nepali students should begin course research in 2026, follow the published UCAS dates for undergraduate applications and use each university’s separate timeline for postgraduate study.

Quick answer: Build the application around the earliest relevant deadline, not the course start. Undergraduate UCAS applications for 2027 open on 12 May 2026, can be submitted from 1 September 2026, and most courses have an equal-consideration deadline of 13 January 2027 at 18:00 UK time.

28 April 2026: 2027 courses appear in the search tool.
12 May 2026: undergraduate applications open.
1 September 2026: completed applications can be submitted.
15 October 2026, 18:00 UK time: Oxford, Cambridge and most medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine/science applications.
13 January 2027, 18:00 UK time: equal consideration for most undergraduate courses.
30 June 2027, 18:00 UK time: applications received after this enter Clearing automatically.
2 July 2027: Clearing opens for eligible applicants.
23 September 2027, 18:00 UK time: final date for 2027 entry applications.

Postgraduate deadlines differ

Most taught master’s applications go directly to universities, and there is no single national January deadline. Programmes can close when full, while scholarships, deposits and international CAS processing use earlier dates. Research degrees and funded projects can have separate competitions.

Month-by-month plan

July–September 2026

Define course goals, check Nepal academic equivalencies, identify direct or foundation routes, compare tuition and total living costs and take an English diagnostic. Undergraduate applicants can submit from 1 September when the application and reference are complete.

October–December 2026

Submit early-deadline applications by 15 October where applicable. Finalise most other undergraduate choices, postgraduate applications, references, statements, CV, portfolio and English preparation. Research scholarships separately.

January–March 2027

Meet the 13 January equal-consideration deadline for most undergraduate courses. Track decisions, attend interviews, submit missing evidence and compare offers by course content, cost, location, placement and conditions.

April–May 2027

Accept the appropriate offer under the relevant process, complete academic and English conditions, confirm scholarship outcomes, study the deposit/refund rules and organise funding. Check ATAS early for affected subjects.

June–July 2027

Complete pre-CAS credibility and document checks, arrange approved TB testing at the appropriate time, satisfy finance evidence and confirm accommodation. Late undergraduate applicants may use UCAS and Clearing rules if suitable places remain.

August–September 2027

Apply for the Student visa after receiving CAS and within the permitted window. Link the travel document to the UKVI account and obtain the required eVisa/share-code evidence. Travel only after permission is granted and arrive within university enrolment dates.

CAS and visa timing

An overseas Student visa application can be made no more than six months before the course start shown on the CAS. Applying at the earliest possible date is not useful until the university assigns CAS and every condition is satisfied. Read GOV.UK Student visa guidance.
