SAT Score Choice Guide for Nepali Students 2026
Score Choice lets a student select complete SAT test dates for a recipient, but every choice must follow that college or scholarship programme’s current reporting policy.
Use Score Choice only after verifying what each recipient requires
The tool provides control over score reporting, while the applicant remains responsible for following the receiving institution’s current policy.
Open the student’s College Board account and review every SAT administration before making a score order. College Board describes Score Choice as a feature for selecting which scores to send by test date. The complete Reading and Writing and Math result from a chosen date travels together. A student cannot select Math from one sitting and Reading and Writing from another inside the Score Choice order.
Check the recipient’s own admissions website first. College Board shows available score-send practices inside the ordering flow, but it also tells students to confirm the latest information on college websites. Some institutions or scholarship programmes require all SAT scores, while others allow one or more selected dates. Record the policy URL, intended intake, applicant category and date checked because score rules can change.
Understand the limits of free score sends. College Board says Score Choice is not available for the free recipients selected during weekend SAT registration or the related selection period, nor for free sends chosen for in-school testing. Those choices can be made before the student knows the final result. A family should therefore decide deliberately whether the early free send is appropriate or whether a later paid report and Score Choice provides better control.
Score Choice and superscoring are different. Score Choice controls which complete test dates are sent. Superscoring is a receiving institution’s practice of considering the best section scores across dates. If a college superscores, it may be necessary to send more than one test date so the institution has both section results. Never assume College Board will create the university’s superscore or that every university uses the same method.
Check application reporting separately. A university may allow self-reported scores in Common App or its own portal and request an official College Board report only after admission or enrolment. Another may require an official report by the application deadline. Score Choice applies to College Board score orders; it does not override the accuracy statement, self-reporting rules, all-score requirement or verification process in the application.
MKS Education can help students compare official score policies and practise for a retake through physical, online and hybrid SAT classes, recordings for every mode, iOS and Android practice, physical books, an eight-week guided course, six-month access and continued support. Students needing more repetition may join multiple suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats. MKS cannot change a recipient policy or guarantee that selecting a score produces admission or scholarship.
Diagnose first
Use a timed Bluebook practice result and a domain-level error log instead of choosing a plan from a guessed score.
Match the goal
Connect the test date, score decision and preparation schedule to the real university and scholarship timeline.
Verify claims
Use College Board and official university pages for changing rules, dates, fees, formats and score-use policies.
Turn the decision into checks you can verify
Save the source URL and the date you checked it. A clear table is more reliable than memory or a verbal promise.
| Check | Why it matters | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Student score history | A selection must begin from verified complete results. | Every SAT date total and both section scores. |
| Recipient identity | Similar institution names and campuses can be confused. | Official name campus and College Board code. |
| Current score policy | Some recipients require all scores. | Official website and order-flow policy notice. |
| Applicant category | International first-year instructions may differ. | Nepal applicant programme and intake. |
| Choose by test date | Score Choice sends a complete administration. | Reading and Writing plus Math from the same date. |
| No section mixing | Score Choice itself does not calculate a superscore. | Do not select individual sections inside an order. |
| Superscore recipient | Two or more dates may support the best-section calculation. | Exact university superscore method. |
| Free score send | The result may not yet be known. | Score Choice availability and selection deadline. |
| Paid score order | Later ordering gives score visibility but can cost more. | Current fee and available dates before checkout. |
| Self-reporting | Application entry and official reports are separate. | Portal instructions and verification stage. |
| Scholarship recipient | Funding programmes can have all-score rules. | Official scholarship score-use practice. |
| Final order review | Score orders should match the intended institution. | Recipients dates charges and confirmation record. |
What makes the MKS SAT learning system different
The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.
Physical online and hybrid
Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable; the system supports Kathmandu and outside-Kathmandu learners.
Recordings in every mode
Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.
iOS and Android practice
Use structured SAT practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.
Physical books
Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official digital resources.
Eight weeks plus six months
Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.
Multiple suitable classes
Students needing more repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to the current schedule and seats.
Practical next steps
- List every score recipient with its official score-reporting policy URL.
- Record whether each institution accepts selected dates or requests all scores.
- For a superscoring institution identify which complete dates contain the needed sections.
- Review the recipient code score dates fee and deadline before confirming the order.
Mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat Score Choice as permission to ignore an all-score requirement.
- Do not assume individual sections can be selected independently for a report.
- Do not confuse a self-reported application score with an official College Board order.
- Do not use an old policy list when the university website is available.
Prepare for the digital SAT that students actually take
College Board states that the SAT contains a 64-minute Reading and Writing section and a 70-minute Math section. Each has two adaptive modules, with a 10-minute break between the sections.
Reading and Writing
- 54 questions across two 32-minute modules.
- Build information and ideas, craft and structure, expression of ideas and standard English conventions.
- Review why the correct answer is supported and why each close alternative fails.
- Track both accuracy and time by domain before relying on full-test averages.
Math
- 44 questions across two 35-minute modules.
- Build Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, Geometry and Trigonometry.
- Choose deliberately between mental work, algebra and the built-in graphing calculator.
- Review conceptual, translation, calculator and careless-error patterns separately.
Build your SAT plan from real diagnostic evidence
Bring your target universities, earliest deadline, preferred test date and a recent Bluebook practice result. MKS Education can help organise an eight-week guided plan with flexible learning modes, recordings, app practice, books, six-month access and continued support.

What is SAT Score Choice?
It is College Board’s free score-reporting feature that lets a student choose which complete SAT test dates to include in a score order, subject to the recipient’s policy.
Can I send Math from one SAT and Reading and Writing from another?
Not through Score Choice. The feature selects complete test dates. A university may create a superscore after receiving the required administrations.
Do all universities accept selected SAT dates?
No. Some colleges and scholarship programmes ask applicants to send all scores. Check the current official recipient website and the policy shown in the College Board order.
Can I use Score Choice with free score sends?
College Board says Score Choice is not available for free score sends selected during weekend registration or in-school testing. Review the live instructions before choosing recipients.
Can MKS Education choose scores in my College Board account?
The student should control the personal account. MKS can help interpret recipient policies and plan preparation but cannot make institutional decisions or guarantee outcomes.
