UK Employers That Sponsor International Graduates
The UK sponsor register contains licensed organisations, but it is not a list of guaranteed graduate vacancies. International graduates should use it as a first filter, then confirm the exact role, occupation code, salary, location and employer policy.
What the sponsor register proves and does not prove
Licence evidence is necessary for many sponsored roles, but it is not a promise to an applicant.
| Signal | It proves | It does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Organisation name | A legal entity appears on the official register. | That every brand, subsidiary or office uses the same licence. |
| Route | The entity is licensed for a named route such as Skilled Worker. | That Graduate Trainee or another route fits a UK graduate hire. |
| Rating | The public register shows its current sponsor rating. | That the licence will remain unchanged until your application. |
| Vacancy | A live advert may mention sponsorship. | That your duties, salary and timing satisfy immigration rules. |
Large employers on the July 2026 Skilled Worker register
These legal entities are examples for research, not a guarantee that a particular graduate vacancy offers sponsorship.
| Sector | Examples verified on register | How to use the example |
|---|---|---|
| Professional services | Deloitte LLP; PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; Ernst & Young; KPMG LLP. | Check the exact scheme, business area, location and annual sponsorship policy. |
| Technology | Amazon UK Services Ltd; Google (UK) Limited; Microsoft Limited. | Match the role to an eligible occupation and the current going rate. |
| Banking and finance | Barclays Bank PLC; Barclays Bank UK PLC; Barclays Execution Services Limited. | Confirm which legal entity issues the contract and CoS. |
| Higher education | University of Oxford; The University of Cambridge. | Review vacancy-level wording because some posts are fixed-term or below a threshold. |
| Healthcare | Many named NHS Foundation Trusts appear as Skilled Worker sponsors. | Use NHS Jobs and verify registration, occupation and Health and Care route rules. |
Broaden the search beyond famous brands
Smaller and specialist sponsors can offer strong roles when the job is genuinely eligible.
| Employer group | Graduate opportunity | Search term |
|---|---|---|
| Universities and research institutes | Research, data, laboratory, professional services and technical posts. | Research assistant, technician, analyst, postdoctoral and project roles. |
| Engineering and infrastructure | Civil, electrical, electronics, production, energy and project roles. | Graduate engineer plus discipline, location and sponsor. |
| Digital businesses | Software, cyber security, data, systems and product roles. | Occupation-specific titles rather than only graduate scheme. |
| Financial and professional services | Audit, risk, actuarial, tax, consulting and technology roles. | Programme pages plus experienced-hire vacancies suitable for graduates. |
| Health providers | Regulated clinical and specified professional roles. | NHS Jobs, professional registration and Health and Care eligibility. |
Turn the register into a targeted employer list
A legal-name and vacancy cross-check reduces wasted applications.
| Step | Action | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Download | Use the current CSV from GOV.UK, not an old copied list. | A dated register file. |
| Filter | Keep Skilled Worker rows and search legal names, towns and sectors. | A longlist of potential sponsors. |
| Research | Open official careers pages and read sponsorship statements. | A vacancy-level policy note. |
| Match | Compare duties, occupation code, salary and start date. | A shortlist of roles that may be eligible. |
| Confirm | Ask recruitment whether the specific vacancy supports your expected status. | A written answer tied to the role reference. |
Assess a sponsored graduate role before applying
The employer and the role must work together.
| Check | Evidence | Reject or clarify when |
|---|---|---|
| Legal entity | Contracting employer matches the sponsor register. | The recruiter cannot identify the sponsoring entity. |
| Occupation code | Employer provides a code consistent with the actual duties. | The title is used to justify a code that does not fit the work. |
| Salary | Guaranteed basic pay meets the applicable threshold and going rate. | Bonus or overtime is used to bridge a shortfall. |
| Start and duration | Dates align with course completion, visa expiry and CoS. | The start is before your permitted full-time employment point. |
| CoS commitment | Employer confirms it will assign sponsorship if all conditions are met. | Only informal language such as “visa friendly” is offered. |
Make sponsorship a fact, not the whole application
Employers still choose candidates for evidence, motivation and role fit.
| Application area | Good practice | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Right-to-work answer | State current permission, expiry and the route needed for the planned start accurately. | Claiming permanent or unrestricted status when it is time-limited. |
| CV | Prove the technical and behavioural criteria with measurable outcomes. | Leading the profile with a visa request. |
| Cover letter | Explain employer and role motivation, then give matched evidence. | Assuming sponsor status makes you a suitable candidate. |
| Recruiter contact | Ask one specific, informed sponsorship question at the right stage. | Repeated generic messages to multiple employees. |
Avoid sponsorship scams and outdated claims
A genuine CoS comes from an approved sponsor for a genuine eligible role.
| Warning | Why it matters | Response |
|---|---|---|
| Payment for a CoS | Buying sponsorship is a serious fraud and exploitation risk. | Stop, preserve evidence and use official reporting routes. |
| Personal email only | The organisation and recruiter identity may be false. | Verify through the employer’s official website and switchboard. |
| Old shortage list claim | Occupation and salary rules changed. | Use current July 2026 rules and current lists. |
| Guaranteed visa | Only UKVI decides an application. | Treat absolute promises as a warning and seek regulated advice. |
Build a sponsor-focused graduate pipeline
Track employer evidence and application quality together.
| Activity | Weekly output | Measure |
|---|---|---|
| Employer research | Add a small number of verified legal entities and career pages. | Register date and Skilled Worker route recorded. |
| Vacancy mapping | Save eligible-looking roles with code and salary questions. | Clear apply, clarify or reject decision. |
| Tailored applications | Submit evidence-led applications to the strongest matches. | Interview conversion rather than raw application count. |
| Skills work | Develop one portfolio, technical or interview weakness. | New evidence linked to priority criteria. |
| Follow-up | Update outcomes and sponsor-policy responses. | A cleaner list and better targeting next week. |
Turn a broad university list into an evidence-based shortlist
MKS Education helps Nepali students compare the exact course, campus, intake, entry route, tuition terms, deposit and CAS conditions—not just a university name. Our counselling team near Shankerdev Campus can review your academic timeline, documents and budget, identify questions that still need written confirmation, and help you prepare a transparent application.
Admissions and immigration decisions always remain with the university and UK authorities. We do not promise admission, a scholarship, a placement or a visa; we help you build a clear, verifiable plan.
Verify before paying or applying
Policies can change by course and intake. Use these official sources, then confirm any unresolved point with the university in writing.
- Register of licensed sponsors: workers — Official register updated frequently; examples checked against the 23 July 2026 file.
- Skilled Worker job requirements — Official sponsor, occupation and salary requirements.
- Find a job — Government job search service with vacancy-level information.
- NHS Jobs — Official NHS recruitment portal for health-sector roles.
Final decision checklist
- Download the latest register and record its date.
- Match the contract’s legal employer to a Skilled Worker entry.
- Verify vacancy policy, occupation code, salary and going rate.
- Never pay for a Certificate of Sponsorship.
- Treat register presence as a filter, not a sponsorship promise.
