IELTS Remark EOR Guide for Nepali Students 2026
Apply for an Enquiry on Results only after checking the six-week deadline, current provider fee, application timing and whether score evidence supports a re-mark.
An EOR checks marking; it does not provide coaching or qualitative feedback
Remarking is most relevant when the recorded performance and published criteria suggest a plausible marking difference, especially in examiner-assessed skills.
An Enquiry on Results asks IELTS to re-mark selected sections. British Council Nepal says candidates can choose the sections and apply through the centre or portal no later than six weeks after the test date. IDP Nepal likewise uses a six-week limit and an online candidate application. Follow the instructions of the provider that delivered your original test.
Check the current fee on that provider’s page. British Council Nepal currently lists NPR 18,000 for IELTS on Computer and IDP Nepal currently lists NPR 19,000, showing why a generic fee claim is unsafe. Both state that the fee is refunded if a score increases. Prices and product-specific charges can change.
EOR does not include qualitative feedback, access to test materials or an explanation of every mark. Reading and Listening are objectively marked, while Writing and Speaking involve examiner judgement against published criteria. That does not guarantee those sections will change; it only helps students decide where a remark may be more plausible.
Compare the processing window with the application deadline. Official Nepal pages describe outcomes from the same day or about two hours up to 21 days depending on sections and other factors. If the deadline cannot wait, ask the institution whether it can hold the application, and compare OSR or another full test where eligible.
Keep evidence and a parallel improvement plan. Save the TRF, application, payment proof and EOR decision. Continue targeted preparation during the wait rather than assuming the score will rise. If the result does not change, the same corrected practice can support an eligible OSR or full retake.
Start from evidence
Match the class plan to your current score profile, application requirement and realistic test date.
Review the feedback
Useful feedback explains the error, links it to an IELTS criterion and gives a concrete next practice step.
Prepare for delivery
Build language skill and the computer workflow together before a timed official test.
Use this checklist before paying or booking
Ask the centre for current written information. The table turns general marketing language into verifiable questions.
| Check | Why it matters | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Eligibility window | Requests must be made within six weeks. | Original test date on the TRF. |
| Provider | The original test centre manages the EOR. | British Council or IDP candidate portal. |
| Selected sections | One or more skills can be requested. | Choose from evidence rather than frustration. |
| Current fee | Provider amounts can differ and change. | Verify the authenticated portal before payment. |
| Refund rule | The EOR fee is refunded if a score increases. | Read current provider terms. |
| Processing time | The result may take up to 21 days. | Application deadline and contingency. |
| Writing evidence | Published criteria can guide the decision. | Task response organisation vocabulary and grammar. |
| Speaking evidence | Recorded practice can reveal realistic uncertainty. | Fluency vocabulary grammar and pronunciation. |
| No feedback | EOR does not provide a coaching report. | Keep a separate learning review. |
| Alternative | OSR or full retake may fit some cases better. | Acceptance timing cost and number of weak sections. |
What makes the MKS IELTS learning system different
Classroom teaching, revision, independent practice and longer support work as one system instead of separate add-ons.
Three learning modes
Choose physical, online or hybrid learning and confirm the current timetable that fits your routine.
Recordings for every mode
Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit lessons and catch up on missed work.
iOS and Android access
Continue structured IELTS practice beyond the live class through the MKS digital system.
Physical books
Use organised print materials together with digital practice instead of scattered files.
Six-month access
The eight-week guided course connects to six-month learning access and continued support.
Multiple suitable classes
Students needing more repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge.
Keep every section inside the same improvement loop
Attempt, diagnose, correct, repeat and retest. Your overall goal should never hide a required section minimum.
A balanced weekly routine
- Review Listening distractors, spelling and paraphrase recognition rather than only counting correct answers.
- Track Reading accuracy by question type and add timed sections only after the method is stable.
- Use the official Writing criteria to revise task response, organisation, vocabulary and grammar.
- Record Speaking answers and review fluency, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation without memorising scripts.
- Keep an error log and use the next mock to test whether the correction actually worked.
Before enrolment
- Confirm Academic or General Training and the required overall and section bands.
- Ask for the current timetable, fee, inclusions, teacher-feedback process and access period in writing.
- Test the commute, device, internet and study hours needed for the chosen class mode.
- Ask how the centre handles missed classes, weak skills and a test date later than the live course.
Before the official test
- Check the authorised test partner for current dates, locations, fees and delivery options.
- Use the same computer workflow and timing that you will face on test day.
- Book only after your reviewed practice evidence supports the planned date.
- Keep the application deadline and result-delivery time inside the booking decision.
