Build a weekly plan that can survive busy days rather than an ideal schedule that collapses.

Match duration to the type of work. Early weeks should establish concepts and question methods; middle weeks should use targeted official questions and an error log; later weeks should mix sections, practise pacing and complete full official simulations. Every mock requires review time. If accuracy rises but timing fails, add timed sets. If errors repeat from missing foundations, return to instruction instead of consuming more mock tests.

Protect the application calendar. Allow for booking availability, the official score-report timeline, school document matching and a possible retake decision. Do not sit the first official exam immediately before the application deadline. GMAC’s planning guidance notes that the test should be scheduled well ahead of deadlines. A student who is not ready at the planned checkpoint should make an evidence-based decision to extend preparation or adjust the application round.
