Format before strategy

Every preparation decision should match the current section content timing and computer workflow

A student who learns an old syllabus can spend weeks on retired tasks while missing Data Insights and current review decisions.

Memorise the structure as a planning framework, not as trivia. GMAC lists Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights as three 45-minute sections with 21, 23 and 20 questions respectively. The exam is 2 hours 15 minutes, with one optional 10-minute break. Because the sections contribute to the total result, a preparation plan must collect evidence across all three rather than treating one as an afterthought.

Quantitative Reasoning consists of Problem Solving questions. The official content page says it measures arithmetic and elementary-algebra foundations and the ability to apply them through logic and analysis. A calculator is not allowed in this section. Current preparation should develop number sense, algebraic translation, estimation, equation building, option testing, checking and pacing rather than advanced mathematics or old Quant Data Sufficiency sets.

Verbal Reasoning contains Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning. Reading questions test understanding, relationships, inference, application, structure and style. Critical Reasoning tests the ability to make and evaluate arguments and plans of action. Sentence Correction is not part of the current section. Nepali students still need accurate English reading, but grammar drills alone do not represent the official Verbal task.

Data Insights contains Data Sufficiency, Multi-Source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation and Two-Part Analysis. These questions can require quantitative, verbal and data-analysis skills, and an on-screen calculator is available in this section. Practice should include sorting and selecting information, evaluating sufficiency, interpreting visual displays, resolving multiple sources and making linked decisions rather than only calculating values.

Train the exam features deliberately. Candidates can select the three-section order and place the optional break after the first or second section. During a section they can bookmark questions; after answering all questions, the Question Review and Edit screen appears only if time remains. Candidates may review as many questions as time permits but edit up to three answers. Do not rush early responses expecting spare review time that may not exist.

MKS Education teaches the current exam through physical, online and hybrid classes, recordings in every mode, iOS and Android practice, physical books, an eight-week guided course, six-month access and continued support. Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge subject to schedules and seats. The structure supports diagnosis, practice and review, but MKS cannot guarantee a score, admission, scholarship or funding.

Diagnose first

Use a current official-format baseline and classify Quant Verbal and Data Insights errors before choosing weekly priorities.

Match the goal

Connect the test date and preparation schedule to official programme and scholarship deadlines.

Verify claims

Use mba.com and official business-school pages for changing format, fees, dates and score-use policies.

Evidence table

Turn the comparison into checks you can verify

Use the same questions for every provider and save the written answer. A transparent system is easier to compare than a headline promise.

Connected preparation

What makes the MKS GMAT learning system different

The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.

Physical online and hybrid

Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable for Kathmandu or remote learning.

Recordings in every mode

Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.

iOS and Android practice

Use structured GMAT practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.

Physical books

Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official GMAC resources.

Eight weeks plus six months

Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.

Multiple suitable classes

Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats.

Practical next steps

  • Replace any old four-section syllabus with the current three sections.
  • Take a diagnostic that reports Quant Verbal and Data Insights separately.
  • Practise section order break and review decisions in official simulations.
  • Track question type timing and error cause rather than only totals.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Do not prepare Sentence Correction as a current Verbal question type.
  • Do not use a calculator in Quant practice.
  • Do not postpone Data Insights until the final week.
  • Do not depend on Question Review when no section time may remain.
Current test context

Prepare for the GMAT exam students now take

GMAC lists three 45-minute sections, 64 questions and 2 hours 15 minutes of testing, plus one optional 10-minute break.

Quantitative Reasoning

Twenty-one Problem Solving questions test arithmetic, elementary algebra, logic and analytical problem solving without a calculator.

Verbal Reasoning

Twenty-three Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning questions test understanding and argument evaluation.

Data Insights

Twenty questions combine quantitative, verbal and data literacy across five current question families, with an on-screen calculator.
