UK University Document Checklist for Nepali Students 2026
Documents are reviewed at several stages: university application, offer conditions, CAS preparation and the visa application. Keeping one verified master folder prevents mismatched versions and rushed corrections.
Quick answer: This guide is written for applicants from Nepal and reflects information checked in July 2026. University and UKVI rules can change, so always confirm the final requirement before paying or applying.
Identity and academic documents
- Valid passport and any requested previous passports.
- School, +2, bachelor’s or master’s certificates and complete transcripts relevant to the course.
- Clear English translations where a document is not in English, following the receiving organisation’s rules.
- English-language test result or accepted alternative evidence.
- Updated CV for courses that request it.
Names, dates of birth, institutions and completion dates should be consistent. Explain genuine gaps rather than hiding them.
Application supporting documents
- Personal statement or statement of purpose tailored to the programme.
- Academic or professional references in the format requested.
- Portfolio, research proposal, writing sample, work-experience letter or professional registration where relevant.
- Course-specific forms and a clear study-gap explanation when appropriate.
A reused generic statement is a weak submission. Link your preparation, chosen modules and career direction with evidence.
Offer and CAS stage
Keep the offer letter and every condition-clearance message. Universities may request a tuition deposit, credibility or pre-CAS questionnaire, financial evidence and document verification before assigning a CAS. Once issued, check the CAS number, passport details, course title, dates, fees paid and qualifications listed. Report errors before the visa application.
Student visa file
- Current passport and CAS reference.
- Financial evidence when required, calculated under the current rules.
- Valid TB certificate when applicable.
- ATAS certificate if the course and nationality circumstances require it.
- Parental relationship and consent documents when using parent/guardian funds.
- Loan or official sponsorship evidence where relied upon.
- Any additional evidence specifically requested by UKVI.
Nepali applicants coming for more than six months will commonly need a TB certificate from a Home Office-approved clinic. Do not use an unapproved clinic.
File management and final audit
Create folders named Identity, Academics, English, Application, Offer-CAS, Finance, TB-ATAS and Visa. Use readable file names, retain unedited originals and keep a submission copy. Before submitting, compare every material fact across the documents and the online form.
Practical checklist for students from Nepal
- Match every name, date and amount across your passport, application, CAS and financial evidence.
- Keep clear scans plus the original documents requested by the university or visa centre.
- Do not rely on an estimated requirement when an official course page, CAS or UKVI rule gives an exact figure.
- Plan backwards from the intake date and leave time for corrections.
- Ask MKS Education to review the sequence of your application before the final submission.
Frequently asked questions
Are all documents submitted at once?
No. Requirements differ by university, course and visa circumstances. Follow each stage’s exact request.
Is a TB test from any hospital accepted?
No. UK authorities require testing at an approved clinic when the TB requirement applies.
What if my CAS contains an error?
Contact the university immediately and resolve it before submitting the visa application.
