GMAT Quantitative Reasoning Course in Kathmandu
Build accurate translation, efficient problem solving and controlled pacing for the current 21-question Quant section without pretending advanced mathematics is the goal.
A strong Quant course teaches candidates to identify the relationship and choose an efficient valid method
Students often lose time through misreading or over-calculation even when they know the underlying arithmetic.
Anchor the course to the current official format. Quantitative Reasoning contains 21 Problem Solving questions and lasts 45 minutes. It tests arithmetic and elementary algebra applied to problems, with logic and analytical skill central to success. The current Quant section does not include Data Sufficiency, and candidates cannot use a calculator. A provider still teaching the old section mix is not aligned with the present exam.
Start with a diagnostic that separates knowledge from decision quality. Record errors in number properties, fractions, ratios, percentages, rates, averages, algebra, inequalities, word problems and interpretation, but also classify translation, assumption, setup, calculation, answer-choice use and timing. A student who knows the formula but builds the wrong relationship needs different instruction from one who lacks the concept.
Teach translation as a repeatable process. Identify the requested value, define variables, mark units and constraints, convert phrases into relationships and estimate the likely answer range. mba.com’s current Quant guidance recommends familiarity with arithmetic and algebra and using answer choices intelligently for approximation. Students should compare direct algebra, logical cases, back-solving and estimation, then choose the simplest valid path rather than a favourite method.
Build accuracy before forcing speed. Use short untimed official-format sets to make the process stable, then introduce controlled timing and section checkpoints. Review every wrong, guessed and slow correct answer. An error log should contain the original cause, corrected method, faster option and one fresh practice item. Repeating the same solution immediately can create recognition without transfer, so mixed later practice is essential.
Connect section practice to the full exam. Quant contributes to the current Total Score alongside Verbal and Data Insights. Include mixed weeks and full official simulations so Quant timing does not improve by neglecting other sections. Practise the intended section order, permitted note-taking and Question Review and Edit decisions under current official constraints. A section improvement target should be evidence based, not a promised raw score.
MKS Education offers Quant preparation in physical, online and hybrid classes in Kathmandu, with recordings for every mode, iOS and Android app practice, physical books and teacher feedback. The guided GMAT course runs for eight weeks, while access continues for six months with ongoing support. Students needing another suitable explanation may join suitable classes without another class charge subject to schedules and seats. MKS cannot guarantee a score, admission, scholarship or funding.
Diagnose first
Use a current official-format baseline and classify Quant Verbal and Data Insights errors before choosing weekly priorities.
Match the goal
Connect the test date and preparation schedule to official programme and scholarship deadlines.
Verify claims
Use mba.com and official business-school pages for changing format, fees, dates and score-use policies.
Turn the comparison into checks you can verify
Use the same questions for every provider and save the written answer. A transparent system is easier to compare than a headline promise.
| Check | Why it matters | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Current format | Defines course alignment. | 21 Problem Solving questions in 45 minutes. |
| Arithmetic | Supports numerical relationships. | Fractions ratios percentages rates and averages. |
| Algebra | Models unknown relationships. | Equations inequalities expressions and systems. |
| Translation | Often causes the real error. | Words variables units constraints and target. |
| Method choice | Efficiency matters under timing. | Direct solve cases back-solve or estimate. |
| Calculator rule | Changes practice habits. | No calculator in Quantitative Reasoning. |
| Whiteboard use | Reduces avoidable errors. | Organised steps and unit tracking. |
| Diagnostic | Separates concept and process gaps. | Skill type time confidence and cause. |
| Targeted set | Builds method quality. | Official-format questions by weakness. |
| Mixed set | Tests transfer. | Changing topics and difficulty. |
| Section timing | Prevents late collapse. | Checkpoints exit rule and review marks. |
| Full simulation | Tests integration. | Quant Verbal and DI under conditions. |
What makes the MKS GMAT learning system different
The live class, revision, independent practice and extended support work together instead of ending on the last teaching day.
Physical online and hybrid
Choose a suitable mode and confirm the current timetable for Kathmandu or remote learning.
Recordings in every mode
Physical, online and hybrid students can revisit difficult concepts and recover missed work.
iOS and Android practice
Use structured GMAT practice and review through the MKS digital learning system outside class.
Physical books
Follow organised print material alongside app practice, teacher guidance and official GMAC resources.
Eight weeks plus six months
Eight weeks of guided teaching connects to six-month learning access and continued support.
Multiple suitable classes
Students needing repetition may join suitable classes without another class charge, subject to schedule and seats.
Practical next steps
- Confirm that the course teaches the current 21-question format.
- Diagnose concept translation calculation and timing separately.
- Move from stable methods to mixed timed official-format work.
- Keep Quant connected to Verbal Data Insights and full simulations.
Mistakes to avoid
- Do not study Data Sufficiency as a current Quant question type.
- Do not depend on a calculator for Quant practice.
- Do not force speed before the method is accurate.
- Do not accept a guaranteed section or Total Score claim.
Prepare for the GMAT exam students now take
GMAC lists three 45-minute sections, 64 questions and 2 hours 15 minutes of testing, plus one optional 10-minute break.
Quantitative Reasoning
Twenty-one Problem Solving questions test arithmetic, elementary algebra, logic and analytical problem solving without a calculator.
Verbal Reasoning
Twenty-three Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning questions test understanding and argument evaluation.
Data Insights
Twenty questions combine quantitative, verbal and data literacy across five current question families, with an on-screen calculator.
Build your GMAT plan from diagnostic evidence
Bring target programmes, the earliest deadline and a recent official-format diagnostic. MKS can organise an eight-week guided plan with flexible modes, recordings, app practice, books, six-month access and continued support.
