Find your application window

Canada intakes for 2027: match the start to your readiness.

Allow time for admission, funding decisions, any required attestation, financial evidence and study permit processing. A course start is not an application deadline.

01

Winter 2027 · January

A near-term option for selected programmes when applications are still open and your documents are ready. Confirm international deadlines and available places now.

02

Summer 2027 · May / summer

Availability is more programme-specific. Check whether this entry point supports your intended subjects, academic progression and study plan.

03

Fall 2027 · September

A major planning window at many institutions. Research programme fit and funding deadlines early, then confirm 2027/28 tuition and the requirements applying when you submit.

Start dates, application windows and attestation availability vary by institution, programme and province. Ask for a deadline checklist for your actual shortlist rather than relying on a nationwide last date. See Memorial’s programme and semester deadlines.

University options & published fees

Explore the wider shortlist

Find Canadian institutions and courses in the MKS directory.

Search by institution, subject or location and compare the options that match your study level and goals. Read the course structure and entry criteria alongside the budget.

For study permit and post-study planning, verify the exact DLI, campus and programme using the official DLI list. A directory listing is a research starting point, not confirmation of PGWP eligibility or a partner relationship.

Why study in Canada?

Choose a qualification that supports your future.

Look beyond a destination name. Compare what you will learn, how the course is delivered and the support available to you.

01

Academic and subject choice

Explore bachelor’s, graduate and carefully selected diploma routes. Compare modules, prerequisites and the final qualification before choosing a provider.

02

Research and practical learning

Examine faculty interests, projects, laboratories and course-integrated experience. Check the actual placement arrangements and any authorization conditions.

03

Different campus environments

Compare city and smaller-campus settings, housing, transport and student services. Location shapes both your study experience and the budget.

04

Skills and career development

Build subject knowledge, communication and professional connections. Review eligible work and graduate-stage options alongside the qualification’s value in Canada, Nepal and elsewhere.

After +2

Plan your Canadian undergraduate route.

Compare a bachelor’s programme with other suitable routes against your results, subject preparation, goals and budget. A diploma or pathway needs a clear progression plan.

  • Check +2 subject prerequisites and accepted academic results.
  • Review English requirements, including component scores.
  • Understand the credential, course load and expected completion time.
  • Confirm credit transfer and progression conditions for any pathway.
  • Check DLI and programme-level PGWP conditions before paying a deposit.

After a bachelor’s

Choose graduate study for a clear academic purpose.

Distinguish a master’s degree from a graduate certificate or diploma. Their academic focus, funding opportunities and immigration requirements can differ.

  • Check recognition of your Nepali qualification and relevant prior subjects.
  • Compare coursework, thesis and research pathways.
  • Review references, statements, experience and any GRE or GMAT requirement.
  • For research study, investigate supervisor fit and confirmed funding.
  • Check current PAL/TAL exemptions and PGWP criteria for the actual credential.

A useful shortlist connects academic fit with a budget you can sustain.

Funding & a sustainable budget

Compare the award—and the costs left to pay.

  • Research undergraduate entrance awards and their eligibility, deadlines and renewal conditions.
  • For graduate study, check departmental scholarships and research or teaching funding where available.
  • Ask whether an award is annual or programme-total, and whether tuition, fees or living support are included.
  • Read conditions such as academic progress, enrolment and any assistantship duties.
  • Subtract only a confirmed written award and keep a plan for the full course.

A scholarship application or headline discount is not a funding commitment. Ask MKS to help you compare the net budget and the university’s written conditions.

Study → graduate stage → next step

Understand the Canada journey beyond admission.

Keep the qualification, permit conditions and your future career plan connected at each stage.

01

Study and maintain your conditions

Follow your enrolment and study permit conditions. Eligible students can generally work off campus up to 24 hours per week during academic sessions; check the separate rules for scheduled breaks.

02

Review the eligible graduate route

A PGWP depends on your DLI and programme, study history and other criteria. Eligible master’s degrees can qualify for three years even when shorter than two years; this is not the same rule as a graduate certificate.

03

Plan the next qualifying step

Use your education and experience to pursue suitable work or further study. Any later immigration route has its own criteria; a Canadian course does not guarantee a job or permanent residence.

Read IRCC’s student work conditions and the official PGWP duration guidance before making work or post-study plans. Passport validity and individual eligibility matter.

Your full Canada study budget

Tuition is one part of the cost to study in Canada.

Plan for admission, the required financial evidence and the whole period of study. Keep immigration minimums separate from your actual spending.

Your application roadmap

From Nepal to your Canadian intake.

Work backwards from the real programme deadline, funding requirements and permit timeline.

01

Profile and shortlist

Review your academics, experience, goals, preferred subject, budget and target intake. Compare the qualification and actual campus.

02

Programme and eligibility checks

Confirm admission requirements, accepted English evidence, DLI details and relevant PGWP conditions. Identify any required graduate-admission test.

03

Application and offer review

Prepare accurate transcripts, references and statements as required. Review the offer, tuition deposit, award conditions and refund terms.

04

LOA and attestation planning

Obtain the required letter of acceptance and follow the institution’s PAL/TAL process or document a valid exemption. Check CAQ requirements for Quebec.

05

Financial evidence and study permit

Organise accessible funding evidence and the current IRCC application documents. Follow instructions for identity, biometrics, medical or other checks.

06

Arrival and enrolment

Follow your approval and entry instructions, arrange housing and insurance, and complete institutional check-in and enrolment. Keep support contacts available.

MKS helps organise preparation and next steps. Institutions decide admission, while IRCC assesses the study permit. Official Canada study permit information.

Your document planning

Prepare a consistent, well-supported application.

  • Valid passport and required identity information.
  • Academic certificates, transcripts and translations where needed.
  • Institution-accepted English results or applicable exemption evidence.
  • The required letter of acceptance and PAL/TAL or exemption documents.
  • CAQ or other provincial documents where applicable.
  • Financial records, source-of-funds and sponsor relationship evidence.
  • Study plan and any medical, biometrics or additional documents requested.

Use the current IRCC document guidance and the instructions for your application. This is a planning list rather than a universal document checklist.

Check the actual credential

Admission, DLI and PGWP are separate checks.

For PGWP planning, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees currently have no field-of-study requirement. Most degree graduates need language evidence at CLB/NCLC 7 in all four areas, alongside the other criteria.

Other university or college credentials can require an eligible field of study, depending on when the study permit application was submitted. Check the programme’s CIP code and the current IRCC eligible-field list.

PAL/TAL and Quebec: plan early

Most applicants need an attestation unless exempt. Since 1 January 2026, degree-granting master’s and doctoral students at public DLIs are exempt from PAL/TAL.

Check the validity year for your submission date. Quebec may still require a CAQ, and its financial requirements differ from the federal table used elsewhere.

Prepare with MKS Education

02

PTE preparation

Explore PTE classes if the particular test and format are accepted for your purpose. University admission and immigration programmes can require different versions.

Some graduate programmes consider GRE or GMAT. Check the actual department before booking a test.

Questions before you apply

Study in Canada FAQs for Nepali students

Clear answers about courses, costs, admission and the student journey.

How can I study in Canada from Nepal?

Choose a suitable designated learning institution and programme, meet its admission requirements and obtain a letter of acceptance. Prepare the required PAL/TAL or exemption evidence, finances and study permit documents. MKS Education can help organise your shortlist, application preparation and test plan.

Which Canada intake should I choose for 2027?

September is a major entry point at many institutions. January and May or summer starts are available for selected programmes. Check the exact course and campus, application deadline and time needed for documents and the permit process before choosing.

What is the cost to study in Canada from Nepal?

Compare tuition and compulsory fees with housing, food, insurance, books, travel and government charges. The university figures on this page use different published tuition or fee bases; they are not all-inclusive quotes. Recheck 2027/28 rates if you plan to start in Fall 2027.

How much living-cost evidence does a student need for Canada?

For applications submitted on or after 1 September 2026, IRCC lists CAD 23,448 for one person’s first-year living expenses outside Quebec. Tuition and transportation are additional. The amount changes with family size, and Quebec has separate requirements. Show available funds and a credible plan for the whole course.

What are the Canada study permit and biometrics fees?

The current official fee list shows CAD 150 per study permit applicant and CAD 85 for individual biometrics where required. These are separate charges, not a complete application budget. Check current fees and whether new biometrics are needed for your circumstances.

Do I need a PAL or TAL to study in Canada?

Most study permit applicants need a provincial or territorial attestation letter unless an exemption applies. Since 1 January 2026, degree-granting master’s and doctoral students at public DLIs are exempt. Quebec may still require a CAQ. Check the rule and letter validity for your submission date.

Does a DLI admission offer guarantee a PGWP?

No. DLI status and PGWP eligibility are separate checks. Verify the exact institution, campus and programme, then review the graduation, study and other requirements. A letter of acceptance or a general claim that a school is eligible is not enough.

Do degree and diploma graduates have the same PGWP rules?

No. Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral graduates have no PGWP field-of-study requirement, but current language and other criteria apply. Other university and college credentials can have an eligible-field requirement depending on the study permit application date. Check the programme’s actual credential and CIP code.

Can a master’s graduate get a three-year PGWP?

An eligible master’s degree of at least eight months, or the applicable Quebec hours, may qualify for a three-year PGWP even if the programme is under two years. All other conditions and passport validity matter. This special rule does not apply to a graduate certificate simply because it is postgraduate study.

Can I work while studying in Canada?

Eligible students may work off campus for up to 24 hours per week during regular academic sessions, with different rules for scheduled breaks. You must meet the conditions and cannot begin before your studies start. Do not rely on an assumed part-time job to prove your study budget.

Is IELTS the only English test for studying in Canada?

No. Accepted tests, formats, scores and possible exemptions vary by institution and programme. Admission and later PGWP language evidence have separate rules. Check the actual requirements before choosing IELTS, PTE or another accepted test.

Can I study in Canada after +2?

You can investigate bachelor’s programmes and suitable diploma or pathway options if you meet their entry requirements. Compare progression, credit transfer, total duration and budget. For a non-degree route, review current PGWP field-of-study conditions before committing.

Does a Canadian qualification guarantee permanent residence?

No. Study admission, a study permit, a PGWP and any later immigration route have separate criteria. A programme can support your skills and career development, but it does not guarantee employment, sponsorship or permanent residence.
