THE THREE GMAT SECTIONS

What you study in GMAT class at MKS Education

The current GMAT tests reasoning for graduate management study. The MKS class connects the official section types to concept lessons, targeted practice and test review.

01

Quantitative Reasoning

Official section: 21 Problem Solving questions in 45 minutes.

In class: strengthen Number Properties, Algebra, Advanced Topics and Word Problems; practise reasoning and calculation without a calculator.

Why it matters: see the mathematical structure of a problem instead of relying on a memorised shortcut.

02

Verbal Reasoning

Official section: 23 Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning questions in 45 minutes.

In class: read for argument structure, separate evidence from conclusion, and evaluate answer choices.

Why it matters: avoid choosing an attractive option that does not answer the question asked.

03

Data Insights

Official section: 20 questions in 45 minutes, including Data Sufficiency, Multi-Source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation and Two-Part Analysis.

In class: interpret mixed data, decide what is sufficient and manage time across formats.

Why it matters: Data Insights contributes to the total score and should not be left until the end.

04

Timed tests and review

Official exam: three scored sections, 64 questions and a 205–805 total-score scale.

At MKS: use available section-wise and full-length practice to find timing, accuracy and concept gaps; review results with class and LMS support.

Why it matters: a score becomes useful when you know which decision or habit to change next.

GMAC defines current section content on its official exam-content page. The MKS portal’s individual courses and tests may change; open each linked area to see current availability.

A PRACTICAL STUDY JOURNEY

How MKS GMAT class and the app work together

Progress is easier to manage when each class leads to practice, feedback and a next action. This six-step path shows how students can use live teaching, the GMAT LMS and mock review without treating one test result as a final verdict.

01

Set a target that fits your applications

List the business schools and deadlines you care about. Check each programme’s GMAT policy, then set a practice target and a date for your first full-length baseline.

02

Build QR, VR and DI concepts

Use live lessons to repair foundation gaps. For Quant, work through the four MKS course areas; for Verbal, practise RC and CR; for DI, learn to read mixed data carefully.

03

Practise between live classes

Turn a lesson into a short timed set in the GMAT LMS. Review written or video explanations where available and note the reason behind every missed question.

04

Check one section at a time

Use section-wise practice to separate concept problems from pacing problems. Track QR, VR and DI patterns rather than judging readiness from one total score.

05

Review a full-length attempt

A full-length practice test is a checkpoint, not a result to collect. Compare accuracy, time pressure and repeated error types, then agree on the next study priority.

06

Book with room for review

Plan the official test around application deadlines and score reporting. If practice remains far from your target, leave time to revise and consider another attempt.

Why choose MKS Education for GMAT classes in Nepal? MKS connects three things in one preparation system: live classes that fit your schedule, a dedicated AI-integrated GMAT LMS, and insights into your Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights practice. You can learn concepts, practise, review explanations and see how your preparation is progressing.

Your AI-integrated GMAT LMS (GMAT app)

A personal AI assistant for your preparation

The MKS GMAT app brings a personal AI assistant into your learning portal. Use it as you work through your preparation, alongside live teaching, courses, practice tests and review.

Your target is connected to a learning process: understand the concept, complete practice, examine mistakes and decide what to study next.

See your progress, section by section

  • Quantitative Reasoning (QR): review your quantitative practice performance.
  • Verbal Reasoning (VR): follow your reading and critical reasoning preparation.
  • Data Insights (DI): view your data-insights practice results.
  • Full-test performance: review overall practice results and score trends on the app’s 205–805 practice-level display.
  • Time spent: see your study activity and time spent in the app.

Understand the score scales: the official GMAT total score is 205–805; each of QR, VR and DI is scored on a 60–90 scale. LMS insights describe your practice progress and are not an official GMAC score report. A 705+ score is a preparation target. See the official GMAT scoring guide.

FIND YOUR PREPARATION PATH

Who benefits from GMAT classes at MKS Education?

Different students need different starting points. The useful question is which combination of class, practice and review fits your current score and application goal.

01

MBA and MiM applicants

Connect your target programme’s admissions policy to a practical GMAT study and test date. A score can support an application, but schools assess the full profile.

02

Working professionals

Use online or hybrid attendance when work makes travel difficult, then revisit class recordings and app practice between sessions.

03

Students outside Kathmandu

Join the online class, use the same study resources and contact MKS about the current timetable and support arrangement.

04

Retakers and score improvers

Bring previous section results and a clear target. Identify whether the main obstacle is content, pacing or repeated errors before repeating more questions.

PREPARATION TIME

How long should GMAT preparation take?

There is no honest fixed duration for every student. Your baseline, target score, daily practice time and application deadline determine the plan. MKS offers six months of access to class content, recordings and LMS resources; that access window is not a promise that every learner will be ready in a particular number of weeks.

01

Strong Quant, weaker Verbal

Spend more time on RC passage structure and CR argument logic. Keep Quant active with short timed practice so an existing strength does not fade.

02

Stronger Verbal, weaker Quant

Rebuild arithmetic and algebra foundations before chasing speed. Use the Number Properties and Algebra paths, then move into timed problem sets.

03

Data Insights feels unfamiliar

Begin with the five official DI question types, then practise reading tables, graphics and multiple sources under a clock. Avoid assuming DI is only mathematics.

04

A tight application deadline

Work backwards from the school’s deadline, official test slot and score-reporting time. Ask MKS for the current batch timetable before committing to a target date.

Bring a recent practice result or describe your Quant, Verbal and DI comfort when you enquire. MKS can explain the current class schedule and help you choose a realistic starting point.

AVOID THESE DETOURS

Common GMAT preparation mistakes to avoid

A useful course should make the next study decision clearer. These errors waste time even when students attend class regularly.

01

Leaving Data Insights until the end

DI is one of the three scored sections. Give it a place in the weekly plan and practise its distinct formats.

02

Collecting mock scores without review

Record why an answer was wrong: concept gap, misread data, weak elimination or a timing decision. Then change the next practice set.

03

Practising only what feels comfortable

A strong Quant student may still need RC or DI work. Follow section evidence rather than repeating the easiest topic.

04

Confusing LMS question totals with exam length

MKS practice-library counts describe learning resources. The official GMAT has 64 questions in 2 hours 15 minutes.

05

Choosing a class by fee alone

Compare teaching, recordings, feedback, schedule flexibility, portal access and the way tests are reviewed.

06

Booking without checking deadlines

Check school policy, official test availability and score-reporting time before deciding when to sit the GMAT.
