Take a balanced diagnostic. Engineering graduates sometimes move quickly through calculation while losing points on units, wording, quantitative comparison conditions, data labels or a hidden restriction. Classify mistakes rather than calling the whole Quant section strong. Use the ETS Math Review and Math Conventions to confirm the arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data-analysis foundation actually tested, then practise translating unfamiliar contexts with complete written reasoning.
Give Verbal Reasoning protected study time. Technical coursework may involve dense reading, but GRE Verbal asks for relationships among words and concepts, passage analysis, inference, evaluation and completion of sentences using context.
