Admission Requirements for International Students
Academic Requirements:
- High School Diploma: Completion of secondary education equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma
- Transcripts: Official academic records from all secondary schools attended
- Standardized Tests: Optional SAT or ACT scores; however, submitting scores may enhance your application
English Proficiency:
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 80
- IELTS: Minimum score of 6.5
- Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 110
- Other Tests: PTE Academic and iTEP are also accepted
Note: If you have completed four years of high school instruction in English or have 30 semester units of college-level English Composition from a U.S. institution, you may be eligible for a waiver of the English proficiency requirement.
Application Process:
- Application: Submit the Common Application or the Cal Lutheran application
- Application Fee: $50 (fee waivers are available for eligible students)
- Essays/Personal Statements: Required as part of the application
- Letters of Recommendation: At least one from a teacher or counselor
- Financial Documentation: Proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses
- Visa Documentation: Upon admission, you’ll receive an I-20 form to apply for an F-1 student visa
